At KIMSAN, we believe the Gospel must not only be preached—it must be lived. And one of the most powerful ways we live it out is through our Social-Economic Response (SER) ministry.
This ministry embodies the practical love of God, reaching those in deep need with compassion, dignity, and hope. Whether it’s a grieving widow, an abandoned elder, a child longing for school, or a sick patient in a remote village—SER steps in as the heart and hands of Jesus.
In 2024, KIMSAN’s social-economic initiatives impacted hundreds across Nakuru, Kisumu, Migori, and beyond, thanks to partners, volunteers, and the grace of God.
The Mission of Social-Economic Response
The Social-Economic Response (SER) department focuses on:
- Restoring dignity to the marginalized
- Providing urgent support to vulnerable families
- Creating pathways to education, healing, and hope
- Expressing the Gospel through acts of service
“We don’t just preach ‘Jesus loves you’—we show it.”
Key Programs Within SER
The work is carried out through four flagship initiatives:
1. Relief Response
In 2024, our Relief Response program supported over 50 homes affected by:
- Natural disasters
- Economic hardship
- Food insecurity
- Lack of shelter or clothing
We provided:
- Food parcels
- Clothing
- Clean water
- Shelter repairs and rent assistance
These weren’t just handouts—they were lifelines. Widows, orphans, and the elderly in Kisumu and Nakuru were among the primary beneficiaries.
2. Simeon’s House
This initiative supports isolated seniors with:
- Medical care
- Spiritual and psychosocial support
- Counseling sessions for grief and depression
- Prayer visits and discipleship
“Through Simeon’s House, our elders are reminded that they are not forgotten—they are honored.”
A standout moment in 2024 was Granny Joan’s story, who after over a decade of immobility, received a wheelchair through this program. Her smile as she took her first ride was a living testimony to the Gospel of love in motion.
3. Rising Star Program
This is KIMSAN’s school sponsorship initiative that supports promising students from low-income families.
Featured in 2024 was Blessing Isabirye, a pastor’s daughter from Kampala who battled illness and a school change before exams—but still scored an A- and she hopes to be a cardiologist in the future
Through Rising Star, students like Blessing receive:
- School fees
- Uniforms and supplies
- Mentorship and prayer support
4. Flourish Program
Targeting youth aged 14–24, Flourish offers:
- Discipleship and Bible studies
- Mentorship and emotional coaching
- Education support
- Life-skills and career guidance
With 7 enrolled beneficiaries in 2024, this program created safe spaces for youth to discover their identity in Christ and build healthy, purpose-driven lives.
Migori Medical Camp: A Model of Holistic Outreach
In November–December 2024, KIMSAN hosted a large-scale medical outreach in Migori, serving over 600 patientswith services such as:
- HIV testing and counseling
- Cancer screenings
- Malaria and diabetes tests
- Child immunizations
- Nutrition education and referrals
A major highlight was the blood donation drive, which collected over 100 pints of blood to address shortages in Migori County.
Even more powerful were the spiritual encounters. Our evangelists shared the Gospel with patients, prayed with them, and connected new believers to local churches for follow-up.
“This was the most impactful free medical camp I’ve seen. KIMSAN’s love is not just spoken—it’s shown.”
– Wycliffe Omondi, Medical Technologist
The Vision Ahead
As we look into 2025, SER is scaling up with plans to:
- Launch new Relief Response missions in Nyakach, Kisumu, and Nakuru
- Expand Simeon’s House to reach more seniors with full care packages
- Host Flourish forums and leadership camps for youth in Vihiga and Narok
- Run free medical camps in Nyatike and San Mariko
- Provide school fees and mentorship for new Rising Star students
“Pure religion is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction…” – James 1:27

Twice a year, during the Easter and Christmas seasons, KIMSAN launches its Relief Response Program—a testament to their commitment to alleviating suffering and demonstrating the love of Christ in practical ways. This initiative goes beyond mere charity; it is a deliberate effort to reach out to those in need, including needy pastors and other vulnerable individuals. By providing essentials and support during these seasons, KIMSAN not only meets immediate physical needs but also conveys a message of hope and solidarity.
Simeon’s House: A Home-Based Care Initiative:
The Simeon’s House program is a unique facet of KIMSAN’s socio-economic response. Named after the biblical figure Simeon, who waited faithfully to see the Messiah, this initiative focuses on providing home-based care for neglected elderly individuals in society. KIMSAN recognizes that love extends to the marginalized and elderly, and Simeon’s House is a testament to their commitment to care for those who may be overlooked by mainstream assistance programs. This hands-on approach not only meets physical needs but also fosters a sense of dignity and belonging among the elderly recipients.
